Description
Duplex Stainless Steel (DSS), including 2205 (S31803) and super duplex grades, features a roughly 50/50 ferrite-austenite dual-phase structure (minimum 30% for each phase). It delivers excellent weldability and notably higher strength, with nearly double the yield strength of 316/317 austenitic stainless steel, enabling lighter yet stronger equipment.
DSS pipes offer outstanding resistance to localized corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. Limited by high-temperature embrittlement, its continuous service temperature ranges from -50°C to 250°C, not suitable for use over 300°C.
